Cookie Policy

Effective date: 19/10/2026

This policy explains how Hewi Africa Pty Ltd, trading as HEWI Africa, uses cookies and similar technologies on https://hewi-africa.co.za/. Read it together with our Privacy Policy for information about personal information, service providers and your privacy rights.

1 What cookies are

Cookies are small files stored on your device by a website. They can help a website operate, remember a preference or understand how it is used. Similar technologies, such as local storage, pixels and tags, can also store information or transmit information about a visit.

A first-party cookie is set for the website you visit. A third-party cookie is associated with another provider. Session cookies usually expire when you close your browser; persistent cookies remain until their expiry date or until you delete them.

2 Purposes and categories

We use Analytical cookies for Google Analytics and Advertisement cookies for Google advertising measurement. The consent panel also has Necessary, Functional and Uncategorized sections. Its current list contains no cookies in those three sections.

  • Analytical cookies help us understand website visits and sessions. They use identifiers to distinguish browsers and activity. Reports may combine information about many visits, but the underlying identifiers and usage information are not necessarily anonymous.
  • Advertisement cookies support measurement of advertising effectiveness, including linking relevant activity to an advertising interaction. Their use does not by itself mean that adverts are displayed on this website.

Necessary technologies, where required, support essential functions and the storage of consent choices. They are treated separately from optional tracking. A category showing no cookies in the panel is not proof that the website uses no other storage technologies.

3 Cookies and technologies used

The following cookie names appear in the website’s consent list. Google provides these services. Each cookie name is shown once here; the consent tool currently repeats entries under different domain labels.

*Google Analytics cookies have a default lifespan of two years. Website settings and browser restrictions may shorten this period.

Session cookies remain for the browsing session. Persistent cookies remain until they expire or are deleted.

Google’s privacy information: https://policies.google.com/privacy. Information about Google cookies: https://policies.google.com/technologies/cookies.

A cookie’s expiry is separate from how long a provider keeps information already collected. Deleting a cookie does not automatically delete that information. Our Privacy Policy explains retention and your rights.

4 Your cookie choices

Our Elementor Cookie Consent panel, headed “Customize consent preference”, lets you choose the optional cookie categories you allow. Necessary technologies remain active where required for essential functions. The intended setup enables optional Analytics and advertising cookies only after you allow the relevant category. Continuing to browse does not itself provide consent.

You can change or withdraw your choices at any time by clicking the cookie icon in the bottom-left corner of the website to reopen the cookie preference panel. Withdrawing consent stops future optional tracking that relies on that consent. It does not reverse processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Your browser also allows you to block or delete cookies. Deleting cookies may remove saved choices, so you may be asked to choose again. Blocking necessary cookies can affect website functions. Cookie choices are generally specific to the browser and device used.

5 External services

Our website links to external services such as WhatsApp and maps. Visiting those services makes their own terms and privacy notices relevant. Where third-party content is embedded in our website, the inventory identifies the provider and any associated technologies. Content that requires optional tracking may remain unavailable until the relevant consent is given.

6 Changes and contact details

We may update this policy when our website or the technologies it uses change. The revised policy will show an updated effective date. Further consent will be requested where required for a new purpose.
